October Favourites!

Image
1. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Crush : I love a dark lip for fall and this lip stain is perfect. It is very pigmented, super long lasting and not drying like other lip stains. $10.99 at drugstores and well.ca 2. Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara : I have to admit that I didn't love this mascara at first due to the wand, but it's definitely grown on me. The formula is my favourite, not too wet and not too dry. It also does an amazing job at lengthening and defining my lashes. $7.99 at drugstores and well.ca   3. Dior CD3233 frames : I recently had a much needed appointment with my optometrist and she gave me a new prescription. Since I needed new lenses I decided that I might as well treat myself to some new frames. I usually always wear contacts but I love my new glasses so much that I've worn them every day since I picked them up. Available online and at optometrist's offices - prices vary 4. Pumpkin everything. October is my favouri...

September Favourites!

Image
I can't believe it's October! Today I'm sharing my fashion, beauty and random favourites from the month of September. 1. Faux fur vests: I loved this trend last fall and winter, and I love it again this year. Unfortunately last year I didn't pick one up, so I've been on the lookout recently and hope to find one soon! $49.95 at H&M 2. Paula's Choice Clear Extra Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution : I've been doing some research on BHA exfoliants lately so I wanted to give one a try. I chose this particular product because it's affordable and well reviewed. Well, it's amazing . Unlike scrubs which slough off dead skin cells, chemical exfoliants work by turning skin cells over faster. They reduce breakouts and scarring, and brighten the skin and improve its overall texture.  I would definitely repurchase this product over and over. I've been using it for six weeks and it has already made such a difference in my skin. $26 at ...

August Favourites!

Image
1. Starbucks Teavana Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade : This drink is such a delicious blend of mint, blackberry and lemonade. It is limited edition and I will be sad to see it go now that the summer is over. 2. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara : Another month, another Tarte product. I do love Tarte. I don't normally buy high-end mascaras since you're supposed to toss them every 3 months, but I received a trial size of this product a while ago and have just now gotten around to using it. I love everything about it. The formula is great (not too dry and not too wet), and it lengthens, thickens and curls my lashes without clumping.  $24 at Sephora stores, sephora.ca and tartecosmetics.com 3. The Mindy Project : I just started watching (or should I say binge watching) the Mindy Project on Netflix. What took me so long to watch this?! If you are a 20 or 30 something year old woman, you need to watch this show! It is so hilarious and real. I can...

July Favourites!

Image
Here's what I've been loving during the month of July! 1.  Aerie Perky Triangle Bikini Top and Hipster Bottom : I feel way too old to shop at American Eagle/Aerie (it used to be my favourite store when I was a teenager) but every now and then I check their website (they have some amazing sales!) and find a gem. This bikini is one of those gems. I normally hate triangle tops because they can be hard to keep in place if you have a small bust like me. I was looking for a new bikini and for the price, this one was hard to pass up, so I took a chance and purchased it. This bikini top is amazing ! It's padded perfectly, so I never have to worry about it slipping out of place. The matching bottom is in the hipster style and it provides a lot of coverage. This is definitely my new favourite bikini and I plan to order it in a different print. On sale at Aerie stores and aerie.com 2. Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette : The minute I first saw t...

June Favourites!

Image
These are my favourite fashion, beauty and random products for the month of June! Boyfriend Jeans: I've been living in boyfriend jeans all month. I got this pair on mega sale at American Eagle a little while ago. They are no longer online, but these three pairs are similar and are also on sale.  On sale at ae.com Olay Pro X Advanced Cleansing System : I have been loving this cleansing brush so much! It makes my skin feel so clean. As promised in my most recent post in my natural beauty series, my review is coming soon . I highly recommend it if you are hesitant about investing in a Clarisonic.  $24.99 at well.ca and drugstores Strawberries: Fresh local strawberries have been everywhere lately. They're so flavourful and I've been enjoying some everyday.  Yes to Tomatoes Oil Control/Acne Control Gel Cleanser : Between the hot, very humid  weather and wearing sunscreen, my face has been a bit temperamental lately. I've been using my normal ge...

May Favourites!

Image
I can't believe it's the end of May already. Hopefully the summer weather will be here soon! Here's what I've been loving during May. This month's list is as random as usual. 1. New Balance SuperLight/SuperFresh 895V2 Walking Shoe : I'm definitely not a sneaker kind of girl. It's been years since I last owned a pair, but I bought these New Balance 895V2 sneakers a few weeks ago in preparation for the Shape Up Challenge , and I love them! They are perfect for walking or running. $89.99 at newbalance.com 2. White Noise Lite App : Sometimes I have a lot of trouble falling asleep at night. I stumbled upon this free app in the Apple App Store and I can't believe how quickly it puts me to sleep! There are a selection of soothing sounds to choose from such as crashing waves, thunder and a ticking grandfather clock. Free, available for iPhone and Android 3. Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet : Lately I've been turning to this bright cool-toned p...

April Favourites!

Image
I can't believe it's that time again! To be honest, this list was especially difficult to compile this month. I spent April finishing up a very intensive 8 month + internship postgrad program. Between the exams, reports, projects, presentations, late nights and early mornings, I had very little time to myself to discover new products, so this list mostly includes old favourites that I found myself reaching for this month. 1. Cadbury Mini Eggs :  Mini Eggs are my favourite Easter candy and I don't even want to think of how many I consumed this month (stress eating!). At least I was balancing all that chocolate out with vegan bowls . 2. Live Clean Fresh Face Foaming Daily Cleanser : I picked up this cleanser in my never ending quest to find the best skin care products. I'm glad I did as I really love it. It doesn't contain any harsh ingredients, so it is extremely gentle on the skin. It is for all skin types, and is reasonably priced. $15.49 at S...

March Favourites!

Image
This month really dragged on for me, especially with the terrible weather we've been having. However my (very random) March favourites helped brighten my days! 1. Polyvore : I was kind of obsessed with  Polyvore in March, creating outfit sets every spare minute I had.  If you can't currently afford designer outfits, creating them on Polyvore is the next best thing! 2. Fresh Tulips: I love decorating with fresh flowers, and hardly a day went by in March that I didn't have tulips in my apartment. I love how they brighten up my home! 3. Starbucks Maple Macchiato : Starbucks recently introduced this drink to their lineup. Although I don't typically drink sweet coffee beverages, I had to try it. So worth the calories. $3.95 at Starbucks 4. Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Plummy Rose : This lipstick is amazing. It is silky smooth and has great colour payoff. The packaging is super cute too!  $19 at Sephora 5. Mad Men : I've been a huge...

February Favourites!

Image
I can't believe it's the end of the month already! Here are the products I've been loving during February. 1. Ecotools Essential Eye Set : I'm a big fan of Ecotools cruelty-free and natural makeup brushes. I recently needed some new eye brushes so I picked up this set. Don't expect Mac, Real Techniques or Sigma quality, but you really do get a bang for your buck with this set. I've been very happy with how these brushes perform.  $15 at Rexall and Lawtons drug stores 2. White Barn 3-Wick Candle in Lilac Blossom and Honeysuckle Bouquet : I am so ready for spring, especially with the winter we've been having in Toronto. I love decorating my apartment with these 3-Wick Candles from Bath and Body Works, and last week I decided it was time to pack away my fall/winter candles and replace them with some spring ones. I picked up these two floral scented candles and I love them. Bath and Body Works normally has promotions on these candles, which is an add...

January Favourites!

Image
Today I wanted to share with you my favourite products for the month of January. They are a mixture of random products that are helping me get through the winter! 1. David's Tea Glass Perfect Mug : I'm a huge fan of loose leaf tea and last month I decided that I needed to invest in a better infuser. This infuser is so fine that no tea will slip through into your mug. This mug also comes with a lid to keep your tea nice and hot. It comes in a number of different colours and designs, but I've been loving the clear glass mug since I currently don't have anything like it in my mug collection. $19.50 at David's Tea stores and davidstea.com 2. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Amused : This bright pink blush is an instant mood lifter during depressing winter days. Don't let the colour scare you; the formula is easy to blend and it looks fantastic on all skin tones.  (Image Source) $31 at tartecosmetics.com, Sephora stores and sephora.com 3....
