August Favourites!

1. Starbucks Teavana Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade : This drink is such a delicious blend of mint, blackberry and lemonade. It is limited edition and I will be sad to see it go now that the summer is over. 2. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara : Another month, another Tarte product. I do love Tarte. I don't normally buy high-end mascaras since you're supposed to toss them every 3 months, but I received a trial size of this product a while ago and have just now gotten around to using it. I love everything about it. The formula is great (not too dry and not too wet), and it lengthens, thickens and curls my lashes without clumping.  $24 at Sephora stores, sephora.ca and tartecosmetics.com 3. The Mindy Project : I just started watching (or should I say binge watching) the Mindy Project on Netflix. What took me so long to watch this?! If you are a 20 or 30 something year old woman, you need to watch this show! It is so hilarious and real. I can...

Natural Beauty: Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette

Image
If you read my July Favourites  post, you'll know that I recently purchased the limited edition Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette . Today I thought I would review and swatch this palette for you. Although Tarte Cosmetics is one of my favourite beauty brands, they are not well known for their eyeshadows. In fact, they don't have any eyeshadows in their regular product line, and the only time they seem to be released is in limited edition palettes. I've tried their eyeshadows in the past, and I loved the formulation. As always, these products are formulated without parabens or phthalates.  This is the third disk palette that Tarte has released, and the first one that I've purchased. What initially caught my eye is the fun packaging as well as the eyeshadows, which are perfect colours for my green eyes. It's rare that I find a palette where all the shades seem made for me. This palette is a steal at $46. It contains six...

July Favourites!

Image
Here's what I've been loving during the month of July! 1.  Aerie Perky Triangle Bikini Top and Hipster Bottom : I feel way too old to shop at American Eagle/Aerie (it used to be my favourite store when I was a teenager) but every now and then I check their website (they have some amazing sales!) and find a gem. This bikini is one of those gems. I normally hate triangle tops because they can be hard to keep in place if you have a small bust like me. I was looking for a new bikini and for the price, this one was hard to pass up, so I took a chance and purchased it. This bikini top is amazing ! It's padded perfectly, so I never have to worry about it slipping out of place. The matching bottom is in the hipster style and it provides a lot of coverage. This is definitely my new favourite bikini and I plan to order it in a different print. On sale at Aerie stores and aerie.com 2. Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette : The minute I first saw t...

Natural Beauty: Tarte Maracuja Oil

Image
Not long ago, I received a trial size of Tarte Maracuja Oil , which is passion fruit seed oil. The trial size lasted me for about two weeks, and I just recently ran out. Today I wanted to share my thoughts about this product as well as compare it to coconut oil, which I have been using as a facial moisturizer for about four months now . Pros: 1. I definitely noticed an improvement in my skin when I used Tarte Maracuja Oil. It was brighter and softer. My skin did get a little oily midday (more so when compared to coconut oil), but that is usual for me.  2. It absorbs into the skin much faster than coconut oil. Cons: 1. This stuff is veryyyy expensive with 3.4 oz costing $90! In comparison, a 860 ml jar of organic virgin coconut oil is about $20. I've been trying to find a generic passion fruit seed oil online, but so far I haven't had much luck. 2. There are tons of complaints online about the packaging, which is a bottle with a dropper. I don't love th...

March Favourites!

Image
This month really dragged on for me, especially with the terrible weather we've been having. However my (very random) March favourites helped brighten my days! 1. Polyvore : I was kind of obsessed with  Polyvore in March, creating outfit sets every spare minute I had.  If you can't currently afford designer outfits, creating them on Polyvore is the next best thing! 2. Fresh Tulips: I love decorating with fresh flowers, and hardly a day went by in March that I didn't have tulips in my apartment. I love how they brighten up my home! 3. Starbucks Maple Macchiato : Starbucks recently introduced this drink to their lineup. Although I don't typically drink sweet coffee beverages, I had to try it. So worth the calories. $3.95 at Starbucks 4. Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Plummy Rose : This lipstick is amazing. It is silky smooth and has great colour payoff. The packaging is super cute too!  $19 at Sephora 5. Mad Men : I've been a huge...

January Favourites!

Image
Today I wanted to share with you my favourite products for the month of January. They are a mixture of random products that are helping me get through the winter! 1. David's Tea Glass Perfect Mug : I'm a huge fan of loose leaf tea and last month I decided that I needed to invest in a better infuser. This infuser is so fine that no tea will slip through into your mug. This mug also comes with a lid to keep your tea nice and hot. It comes in a number of different colours and designs, but I've been loving the clear glass mug since I currently don't have anything like it in my mug collection. $19.50 at David's Tea stores and davidstea.com 2. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Amused : This bright pink blush is an instant mood lifter during depressing winter days. Don't let the colour scare you; the formula is easy to blend and it looks fantastic on all skin tones.  (Image Source) $31 at tartecosmetics.com, Sephora stores and sephora.com 3....
