July Favourites!

Image
Here's what I've been loving during the month of July! 1.  Aerie Perky Triangle Bikini Top and Hipster Bottom : I feel way too old to shop at American Eagle/Aerie (it used to be my favourite store when I was a teenager) but every now and then I check their website (they have some amazing sales!) and find a gem. This bikini is one of those gems. I normally hate triangle tops because they can be hard to keep in place if you have a small bust like me. I was looking for a new bikini and for the price, this one was hard to pass up, so I took a chance and purchased it. This bikini top is amazing ! It's padded perfectly, so I never have to worry about it slipping out of place. The matching bottom is in the hipster style and it provides a lot of coverage. This is definitely my new favourite bikini and I plan to order it in a different print. On sale at Aerie stores and aerie.com 2. Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette : The minute I first saw t

Currently Coveting: Bar Carts

Image
Bar carts are my latest home decor obsession. It seems like they are everywhere lately, and I am seriously considering adding one to my own home. They can be super affordable ( try this one from Ikea ) or fancy ( like this one from West Elm ). Apart from the basics like liquor, glasses and a cocktail shaker, you can add all kinds of fun objects to your bar cart such as fresh flowers, candles, framed prints, books, knick knacks, really anything you can think of! Today I'm sharing some bar cart styling inspiration with you. Many of the bar carts I have featured use the Raskog Kitchen Cart from Ikea . I think a trip to Ikea is in store! When Should You Stop Using a Skin Care Product?

Image
Some of us are blessed with flawless skin and some of us aren't. I unfortunately belong to the latter group. Throughout high school until my mid-twenties, my skin care routine consisted of using a benzoyl peroxide cleanser and spot treatment at night, and in the morning, Spectro Cleanser and a heavy moisturizer like Nivea Soft to combat the dryness caused by my cleansers. My skin was oily but clear apart from the occasional breakout.  If you're a reader of this blog, you know that for about the past six months, I've changed both my skin care and makeup after becoming aware of what conventional products can do to our bodies and the environment. Switching all of my products at once has not always been easy on my skin. I've tried a lot  of products recently - I've only blogged about ones that have worked for me - and it's not always easy to decide when you should stop using a new product. Many of us expect new products, whether they are anti-aging or an

Summer Trend: Mix & Match Swimwear

Image
I love mismatched bikinis. They are so easy, and they give off such a fun, laid back vibe. I've been wearing mismatched bikinis for a few summers now so I am pretty excited that it is such a big trend for Summer 2014. While there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to mixing tops and bottoms, today I'm sharing some tips for finding the perfect mismatched bikini! 1. Keep it within the same brand. Colours vary so much from brand to brand that it can be nearly impossible to match the turquoise in your print bikini top with a solid turquoise bottom from a different brand. If you don't mind your colours not completely matching, then ignore this tip, and if you're shopping for neutrals it doesn't apply. 2. Keep it within the same colour family. I think this trend is easiest to pull off if you follow this tip, no matter which colour you choose. This is also a good tip to follow when it comes to mixing print tops and bottoms.  3. Mix analogous or complementary co
