Fashion Favourites: Oscar de la Renta Looks

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Oscar de la Renta last week. He was such a talented designer and truly one of the remaining greats. He trained with Cristobal Balenciaga, and worked at Lanvin and Arden before launching his own ready to wear label in 1965. Over the years, he expanded into accessories, perfume, bridal wear and home wear. He also designed Balmain's haute couture collection from 1993 to 2002. He was a favourite designer of celebrities and first ladies. Today I'm taking a look back at some of my favourite de la Renta looks from both the red carpet and the runway. 1. Blake Lively Blake made her first red carpet appearance since announcing her pregnancy at the Golden Heart Awards. She wore a nude colour Michael Kors dress with intricate pink and violet embellishments. She accessorized with gold heels, oversized rings and peachy makeup. (Source) 2. Jennifer Lawrence Jennifer attended the premiere of Serena at the London Film Festival in a black Dior tuxedo dress with a plunging v-neck. She completed her look with black heels and drop earrings.
